I have been using my new earbuds for about a week now and the sound quality is impressive, with great bass and highs/lows. They are very comfortable and stays in my ear even while exercising intensely. People tell me that my voice sounds clear when making calls, and the active noise cancellation is excellent when both earbuds are used together, which helps eliminate noise in my background so I can enjoy my music and hear others on phone calls. If I could change a few things I would recommend that the charging case looked better, showed numeric charging numbers and supported wireless charging. However, even without these enhancements the earbuds are great, just like all of the products I have purchased from Cowin.
These buds have a great sound in the high, middle and low frequencies. l tried the different size silicone ear pieces to find the best fit. I love them.
Have had Apple Airpods but feel sound quality of these Cowin Apex Elite Earbuds are better. Good comfortable it in the ears. Also includes additional size soft silicone ear pieces if stock ones do not fit you well. Very Good noise canceling quality. Also own Cowin noise canceling headphones, these have same or better noise canceling quality.Pairs easily, BUT first remove the protective plastic shipping strip on each earbud. Will not pair or charge until removed and pairing instructions do not make this step very clear.Overall, feel great quality for the money.
The Apex Elite Earbuds are a solid little pair of headphones, with quality comparable to a similar set of headphones I have, the Mpow X3 ANC.Sound: Crystal clear, but a little heavy on the bass. Might be helpful if an EQ app is provided along with the buds so you can tune the sound more to your liking.Design: The clamshell design is novel, though it does make opening it somewhat fiddly. I am a definite fan of the bud design on the other hand. Nice and compact.Features: ANC works great, and the inclusion of a "transparency" mode is a great little feature that is missing from my Mpow headphones. The Mpow headphones on the other end have other touch functions, such as the ability to raise or lower the volume with a single tap.Price point: Will update once the final selling price of this item is confirmed.Charge time: Total charge time was not disclosed by the seller at the time of review. Will update.
When I first tried these out I was immediately impressed by the sound. I can tell you they sound WAY better than the standard Apex earbuds do. The tones are crisp and bright across all frequencies with a solid bass that isn't overpowering. They fit in my ears quite comfortably and stay in place just fine. The ANC works quite well at diminishing background hums and rumbles (it is rated at -32 dB) but does slightly affect the overall tone quality, subtly clipping the highs and lows. So provided you are not experiencing a lot of background noise they do sound better with the ANC turned off. That said, I'm currently getting around six hours of battery life with the ANC turned ON, which is actually quite impressive for this style of earbud. The case also holds several extra charges on top of this and only takes about an hour or so to recharge the earbuds. Unfortunately Cowin did not include a battery indicator light on the outside of the case so you do have to open it up to know when it is finished charging. The case itself is perfectly round and quite compact and should slip well into any loose pocket. Unlike Cowin's standard Apex earbuds the touch controls on these are easy and reliable to use. I was however disappointed that at this price range they do not include the ability to remotely adjust the volume or skip tracks, even though my MPOW M30s can do both of these things for around 1/3 the price. In addition to the ANC the Apex Elites also have a transparency mode that lets you also hear background noise or people talking while still listening to your music. When using one earbud at a time they automatically slip into mono mode so that you are not just listening to one channel of a stereo track. The range seems pretty standard, coming in just a little shy of what my over-ear headphones can handle. Within this range I haven't had any problems with dropouts. The Bluetooth itself connects quickly and easily. According to the manual these earbuds have an IPX5 waterproof rating, so while you can't wear them in the shower they should stand up to sweat and light rain just fine. I am also told they sound quite good for phone calls, with my voice coming in on the other end loud and strong. Overall I would have no trouble recommending the Cowin Apex Elites to anybody who is looking for a good pair of noise cancelling wireless earbuds for under $100.
Cowin makes above average headphones and earbuds that don't cost nearly as much as the high end products. These ear buds work just as well as more expensive ones in my opinion. I can wear them for an extended period and they stay in and stay comfortable.
